Craft Show finds 1

January 25, 2012

Craft shows are a great source of inspiration on many levels, but recently I have been noting the wide range of artists working with reused materials.  Sometimes the incorporation is obvious, and an artists’ work is about reusing materials.  Other times, the inclusion is much more subtle and you have to really look (or ask the artist) to find out that it is there.  In order to post more information on this site, I am going to offer one artist per post.  But I am also creating a page that will archive these links as they accumulate.

Today’s offering is:

Deb Kracht (Washington Craft Show, Baltimore ACC Show, Boston Craft Show)

Her amusing junkheads, blockheads, and fallen angels are particularly pertinent here.  You don’t have to search for the connection to recycling, but you do have to be in awe of her sense of humor.  Lots of people are doing this sort of work, but few are doing it so well.
