Surface Design Association Spring 2010 EcoVision issue

May 12, 2010

Hurray for the Surface Design Association (SDA) for focusing on ecodesign in their Spring 2010 issue.  The SDA is a wonderful organization with a fabulous annual conference.  Its journal alone is worth the membership fee, but check out their website to see all of the other programs and events they are involved in.

Since they don’t post the images in their publications on their website, I found a few links to artists features in the spring EcoVision issue.

Among other things, they include an article about Lisa Klakulak’s amazing feltwork.  Lisa is one of the original members of this blog and and inspiring felter.

Also, Suzanne Lee’s Biocouture makes clothing out of a new microbial-cellulose fabric that is grown in sheets and dried for use.  It is biodegradable.

And Gary Harvey, designer of the newspaper dress featured on the the newspaper page a few months ago is included as well.   An article at Design Bitch featured some of his images as well.
