Capital City revives the Earth Day Recycled Sculpture contest
The Capital City Public Charter School student council decided to revive the Earth Day Recycled Sculpture contest (with a little help from yours truly). Notices went out to staff, faculty, and students and their families with instructions and deadlines for the contest. The information was very similar to that in the DIY forms on this site. On April 21st, the day before Earth Day, the participants brought their entries to the school. We received 18 entries from 34 individuals. Many of the sculptures (including the ones in the images, below) were made following the “no new materials” rule. Everyone will get a certificate acknowledging their involvement and contribution. Only those in full compliance with the rules will get a special gift, still to be determined. Here are a few photos.
